The South Shore's Best Kept Educational Secret

Middle School

At Good Shepherd Christian Academy, the excellent academic tradition of our elementary grades continues into middle school. Our middle school curriculum is challenging, because we believe the middle school years are a crucial period of development for students. Because of our small class sizes and masterful teachers, we are able to advance students toward success in high school and beyond. It is our hope that many of these students will be part of our first graduating class from the Good Shepherd Christian High School that is being developed.

For the 2009-2010, we have a 6th-7th grade middle school class with four rotating teachers. In the morning, the sixth and seventh graders are split into two smaller classes for pre-algebra and language arts. In the late morning and afternoon, both classes are together for science, history, Bible, and their daily special classes (Music, Art, Spanish, Physical Education, and Keyboarding). For the 2010-2011 school year, we have 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.

We encourage you to view our different types of curriculum, because we believe that we assembled the best (and most diverse) middle school curriculum.

While all subjects are important during the middle school years, mathematics and language arts are of preeminent concern. For this reason, our middle school emphasizes math (with Pre-Algebra and Algebra I) and Language Arts. We are the only school in the area that provides two hours each day for language arts instruction.
