Welcome!

My name is Corinne DeGraff and I am privileged to be the teacher of the Panda Class this year at Good Shepherd Academy and Preschool.

As a preschool teacher in a Christian School I believe that love should be the main focus. "Let love be your greatest aim.." I Corinthians 14:1a That focus I believe should then go in three directions:

First would be teaching the children about God's love through Scripture and examples¦ "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love." John 15:9 . In addition teaching them to love one another. "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you." John 15:12

The third aim would be to teach the children to love school. For most of them this will probably be their first school experience and therefore it is very important to have it be positive and interesting. In the process they will learn many things. There will be some basics like colors, the alphabet, shapes and how to write their name. But also we will be doing units on fire safety, the pilgrims and native americans; grandparents day; the birth of Jesus. Other units will involve polar bears; nutrition and dental health; ponds; air; the Resurrection; worms and snails just to name a few.

Keeping the children busy and excited about learning provides a fun and growing experience for them. I welcome parental involvement and look forward to welcoming your child .
