The South Shore's Best Kept Educational Secret
At Good Shepherd Christian Academy, kindergarten is a joyful, nurturing, yet challenging experience for children. The classroom is full of Christ-centered developmentally-appropriate learning activities. The kindergarten curriculum includes training in phonemic awareness, alphabetic principles, connecting letters with sounds, word blending, sight word recognition, and beginning reading. The goal is for most of the children to be happy little readers by the end of the year! Children learn also basic handwriting skills, beginning math concepts, science, social studies, Bible, art, music, and physical education in this full day program. Our Kindergarten teacher, Kathy Dale, seeks to create a classroom environment that enables each child to acquire the skills that he or she will need to be successful in life and to engender a love for learning. Our Kindergarten motto is “have fun and learn something new!”
