Even before the rise of the digital age and the amazing prevalence of computers in our modern era, educators recognized the value of typing skills. Students preparing for higher education and those planning to enter the work force after high school obviously benefit from being able to communicate information more rapidly and more accurately. At Good Shepherd, we use the Mavis Beacon software program to guide our students as they improve their typing skills and speed. Since students have their own accounts, they can progress at their own rate, review lessons that were difficult, and enjoy the satisfaction of making progress toward typing goals.
